Who are you? IRL and gamer Tag
Hey all! I go by the name of Jayden, a.k.a Phantisy.
What platforms do you create content on?
I have been in the Esports community for a decent portion of my life. I have owned & operated Victrix Esports since 2015, and have learnt many skills along the way, met so many incredible people who I now call close friends, and have had exposure to a wide range of business outcomes which I never in a million years thought I’d have the opportunity to delve into.
What is your all-time favorite game?
All time favourite games are tied between two, both under the same series. It would have to be either Crash Bandicoot - The Wrath of Cortex or the original Crash Tag Team Racing. I actually can’t tell you how many hours I stacked up on both those games as a youngster, they practically formed my childhood.
If you could be one video game character who would it be and why?
As my image suggests - Pikachu is my boy (any game with him in it basically!)
Where would you like to be in 1 year?
I should hopefully be wrapping up my Masters of Architecture by that point, and have some things in the works as we speak which I hope to one day turn into a career. At the start of 2020, I set out around 10 personal goals, and have already smashed out a couple - so I’d like to have them all completed in a year's time!
What or who got you into gaming?
I began my Esports ventures with an old friend of mine back in high school. We posted regular Youtube content and created a team called ‘Phantisy Gaming’ around that to begin with (I then kept the name for my gamertag, hehe…). After a while, I decided to take a more professional & competitive step forward and Victrix Esports & my career in the Esports world was born.
What do you think of Quantum Energy Drink?
As a large supporter of local brands & seeing people reach full potential in the Australian Esports scene, Quantum embodies everything a brand needs and inspires me to do my best with community engagement. Excellent customer support with a main focus on community - it doesn’t get much better than that. And the product, it’s insanely good, contains nothing bad for you, and just simply works better than the other formulas out there - it’s non jittery, straight & clean focus.
What is 1 piece of advice for someone starting out?
Coming from an Esports management background, if you’re interested in managing an organisation or team, you need to be putting your players & staff motives & goals first. It was at the forefront of our entire business model & mission statement. They should inform every decision you make, and if you can help someone achieve their goals within Esports, you’re helping someone to do something many others are unable to do - it’s an incredible feeling.
What is your favorite content creation moment?
Being a part of @HyphyAus’ growth on Twitch over the last 8 months has been superb. The community he has created from the ground up, his motives, his attitude - everything Will does is how I believe all creators should operate.
Who is your favorite streamer or YT'er? And why?
I’ve recently been delving a lot into personal wellbeing & figuring out how to better myself as a human being. I thoroughly enjoy the content of Gary V, and often find myself watching a lot of Anrei Jikh (if you’re into the personal finance side of life, he makes difficult concepts incredibly easy to understand and implement).
What is your favorite gaming snack?
I actually rather enjoy a nice big bowl of ice cream - no dust or stuff on your fingers, and cools you down when things are getting sweaty!
What's your favorite thing to do outside gaming?
Any chance I get to spend time bettering myself as a person is time I cherish. In my free time, I always try to consume as much content around growth as I can - always keep learning & spreading your knowledge with others. The world needs more of that. Also, surrounding myself with like-minded people is a great thing to do - I strongly believe that you are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time around.
Who outside of gaming do you look up to as a role model or idol?
I’d have to say - aside from creators & gaming, I look up to those who have turned nothing into something. Being able to stick out the grind even when things seem grim is a quality I admire & always trying to work on. Not so much an individual, but those people in general.
